Tibet is absolutely beautiful

Not much news today, just some pictures of Tibet, which is absolutely beautiful. It sorta feels like we've hit heaven. Check it out:

Our Video Wiz Kid scoring some more top notch B-roll.

Bag o' flags
I swam in this lake! It was freezing!

This guy wanted to trade one of his necklaces for my sunglasses. I said throw in the dog and it's a deal! He wouldn't throw in the dog.

This is the lake I swam in. Nobody else wanted to. It was the most beautiful lake I'd ever seen.

A Tibetan calf.
We decided to hang up all our prayer flags by this lake and leave them overnight to absorb some of the energy here.

Here's a flag I made!
Our Poet and myself hung up all of these prayer flags with some help from our Mississippi Bluesman. Meanwhile, our Wiz Kid Videographer did what he does best and set up a cool time lapse shot. It must have been a difficult time lapse shot to set up, because he was working on it the entire time we were setting up all the flags, which took us over three hours!

This flag was made by Amet Waya

Our Poet beats the Kinship of Rivers drum for some publicity shots taken by our Mississippi Bluesman. Meanwhile our Video Wiz Kid goes back to doing what he does best, checking on his camera.

We rented a couple rooms at this little Tibetan farmhouse.
Big A was sick with food poisoning almost the entire time. Poor kid! He's been sick almost the whole time with one bug or another, including on his birthday. This was not the best place for food poisoning. The toilets were just holes in the floor.
Tibetan farmhouses are built around a central family courtyard. The far corner is where we ate our meals and hung out.

The family wove their own wool for extra cash.

Even the average Tibetan farmhouse has these awesome paintings all over the walls. Tibet is full of stuff like this.

Immediately after we finished hanging up our prayer flags, it started hailing. Everyone bolted inside, and our Wiz Kid Videographer had to stop his time lapse shot before the sun went down all the way! Poor kid. Once we were inside it started pouring. Our Poet was very worried about the flags, and if they'd make it through the night. The next morning, while our Wiz Kid Videographer dreamed of cool shots he could set up, our Poet, our Mississippi Bluesman, and myself, the Blogger Extraordinaire/Your Buddy on this Adventure spent an hour and a half making sure the flags were okay.
They were soaked. We tightened every single string to lift the water-heavy flags up off the ground again. During breakfast they dried surprisingly well, though. While our Wiz Kid Videographer spent two hours transferring vitally important files, everyone else spent a couple hours hauling in all the flags.

This mountain pass was over 5,000 meters high, the tallest place we've been yet.
